Can't afford advertising?

Success in any business (if you sell Avon you have a business) is dependent on many factors, in this case we'll talk about advertising (marketing) in other words getting the word out there. If you don't let people know that you have a product to sell how will they know. The fact that you are reading this post indicates that marketing works. The bottom line is this - although you may build a business on a shoestring your chances for any real success is extremely limited! There are many different ways to advertise your Avon business we'll discuss a few here.

1 Word of mouth - As you build your business if you're lucky people will call you because your Aunt Martha recommended you. Word of mouth is very important but you still need more.
2 Newspaper - This is the easy way, you spend around a $100.00 for an add to attract new business or recruits, cross your fingers and hope.
3 Distribution of brochures - This actually works very well, the bad news is it takes work. Some Representatives have circumvented the work by "tossing". I believe this is the lazy way of doing things. How would you feel having to pick up an Avon book that's soaked with water because its rained since it was delivered. Yea I'd be real impressed. Put the brochures in a bag (Avon sells them) and hang them on a door!
4 Target Brochure Drop - This works great if you've not been beat to the punch! Here's how it works - You leave brochures at select locations, at your kids school with teachers, at the court house, the bank, video store.

Here Are Some Ideas We Use!
1 The Photo Magnets - These are actually mini billboards, you can give them to your existing customers - they put them on the fridge and see your name and business several times a day. (think about the Geico Commercial or TV ads during a political election). The more your customers see your add the more likely they are to call you. Instead of giving your existing customers a single magnet give them two - ask them if they would mind passing them on to their friends (you may very well pick up several new customers, you now have been endorsed)! Hang books in your neighborhood for three consecutive campaigns, put a magnet in a bag with the brochure the first campaign then follow it up for another two campaigns. Have an Avon open house at your home provide those that attend a magnet to hang on their fridge.
The list go on and on the idea is simple GET YOUR NAME OUT THERE!

2 Apparel - This is fun, find clothing you like that promotes what you're after (new customers, recruiting) and simply wear it as you go about your day. Going to the mall, the grocery store, getting your hair done etc etc... All you want to do is invite people to contact you - you just smile and say as a matter of fact I do sell Avon -Want a book? Or Sure I sell Avon and you can too! Its not hard you're not even selling you're just inviting people to approach you!/

3 Coffee Mugs, Mouse Pads, Tile Boxes etc. be creative and use your imagination - coffee mug to the teacher, mouse pad to the office worker - gift items to simply say "Thanks I appreciate you"! Be sure to check out Vista Print they have amazing items most for free! Just pay for shipping usually between $6-10 depending on size of order! $5 off your order if you use that link plus 80% off select items!

If you want any business at all YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO ADVERTISE!

10 Ways to Promote yourself!

Hey guys okay for today I'm offering 10 ways to advertise your Avon/Tiny Tillia/Mary Kay/etc business! Of course you know I love Avon/Tiny Tillia & I can't say anything about the Mary Kay PRODUCTS but I will try not to focus on only Avon. Though I might refer to only Avon, you can use these tips for almost any direct sales company! Okay.....go!

#1. Take a small zip close baggie (snack sizes work well) and include the following in it:

Your Business Card, mini flyer (business opportunity from Avon, meet mark. from mark., customizable flyer with a little bit of info about you & the company), a piece of candy such as hard candy or a lollipop, mini flyer of current host specials, discount coupon (optional), samples, etc.

Hand these out to the bank tellers, retail cashiers, at your kids sport events, every where you go!

#2. Be creative when you leave tips for Hotel Maids, Waitresses, Waiters, Hair Dressers, etc. Don't just hand them your business card, make it memorable!

You can also buy cute little beaded change purses at your local dollar discount store!

#3. Print out flyers with your contact info (not your personal address!), your website address, phone number & email address along with any current specials you are offering.

Then contact local area mobile home park offices, apartment complex rental offices, housing developements etc and ask them if you can leave fliers in their office or hang on their tennants doors. Give the office employees a free gift or discount on their personal orders.

#4. Contact local area bridal supply stores, bridal gown stores, caterers, tux rental centers, wedding dj's etc. Ask them if you can leave your business cards & fliers there. Offer a bridal gift registry and/or special for brides & their bridal party!

Offer store owners a free gift or a personal discount for helping you spread the word about your business.

#5. Daycare Centers! They are excellent to contact and leave business cards and/or fliers at! Especially if you are doing Tiny Tillia this is a great place!

#6. Alot of churches hold a Spring and Fall Fest! Contact them about getting a table or a booth. Alot of times this will cost you under $15.00 for a space! A great idea is to host a raffle and have cards where they can enter their information to win. They get a great gift, and you get a possible customer!

Make sure you take products with you along with fliers, plenty of catalogs, business cards, samples, etc.

#7. Join your local area chamber of commerce! They are always holding local business events that you can participate in.

#8. College Campuses! Dorms & Housing Students are always looking to spend money! Alot of college students are also looking for an extra income so be sure to tell them about your business opportunity if you are recruiting!

Drop off fliers and business cards to the College Student Center! They usually have bulletin boards, tables and other things where you can leave your information at for FREE!

#9. Contact your local area Welcome Wagon or Welcome to the Neighborhood Group! Ask them about you leaving mini catalogs, fliers, business cards, discount coupons, freebie mini gifts, etc with them.

They are always looking for additional items to place in their Welcome Bags!

#10. Contact your local area hospitals and ask for Human Resources Dept. The Majority of hospitals hand out New Mommy Diaper Bags filled with products, samples and other stuff for New Moms who just had a baby!

There you go 10 ways to market your Avon! Try this and let me know how it goes!
